Oakville Public Library - Indigenous Knowledge Guide Stephen Paquette
Meet Stephen, Indigenous Knowledge Guide
We’re honoured to welcome Stephen Paquette of the Wikwemikoong First Nation to Oakville Public Library as local Indigenous Knowledge Guide. Stephen is a respected educator and advocate for Truth and Reconciliation.

As Indigenous Knowledge Guide, Stephen will:
  • Share Indigenous teachings through programs and events
  • Offer guidance on bringing Indigenous perspectives into library spaces
  • Mentor Indigenous youth and community members
  • Support reconciliation efforts at OPL to better reflect and serve the local Indigenous community
This initiative is part of OPL’s journey and ongoing commitment to reconciliation, supported by the Government of Canada’s Community Service Recovery Fund; and built on meaningful relationships with local Indigenous communities, including the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and Six Nations.
